Welcome to LumaClear. These terms are an agreement between you and the developer, Pan Xueyan, and apply to your installation, access, and use of the app. Before first use, you must read and accept these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you cannot enter or use the app.

1. The Service

LumaClear is a local photo and video organizer for iPhone and iPad. It provides:

  • Duplicate cleanup: on-device detection of exact and visually similar photos and videos, shown in groups for your decision;
  • Categories: detection of blurry photos, screenshots, screen recordings, Live Photos, GIFs, bursts, large videos, and long videos;
  • Filtering and compression: filtering by file size, duration, and date, with compressed videos saved back to Photos as new files;
  • Storage estimates: an estimate of space that selected media may free.

For example, the app can group likely duplicates among 10,000 photos and list large or long videos among 2,000 videos. You must review the results and decide whether to take action. Scanning and analysis run on your device, and your media is not uploaded to our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.

2. Accounts and Permissions

The app has no separate account and does not require registration, sign-in, a phone number, or an email address. Photo access is used to read the photos and videos you authorize, together with necessary information such as thumbnails, dimensions, file size, duration, creation date, and media type. This information is used for duplicate comparison, classification, filtering, previewing, and storage estimates. You can limit or withdraw access in system settings.

3. Acceptable Use

  • Do not use the app for anything unlawful in your jurisdiction;
  • Do not reverse-engineer, crack, inject into, or spoof the app or its runtime;
  • Do not abuse in-app purchase or restore interfaces with automated tools;
  • You are responsible for the media you choose to delete or compress; back up anything important.

4. Intellectual Property

The app name, icon, interface design, source code, and documentation are owned by the developer. No copying, distribution, sale, or commercial use is permitted without written permission. You retain all rights in your photos and videos; the developer claims no ownership of them.

5. Deletion, Compression, and Risk Notices

Media organization can involve deletion. Read these boundaries before using the app.
  • You decide every deletion. The app never deletes content automatically. Every deletion requires your selection and a second confirmation, then uses the system Recently Deleted flow.
  • Algorithms can be wrong. Duplicate and blur detection are suggestions. Review each photo or video before confirming an action; accuracy is not guaranteed.
  • iCloud media. Bulk scans do not automatically download originals that exist only in iCloud. Such items may be skipped until they are available locally.
  • Video compression. Compression may reduce bitrate or resolution and saves a new file. The original is kept by default; confirm that the new file plays correctly before deciding what to do with it.
  • Local data. Scan caches and preferences live on this device. Uninstalling the app or clearing caches removes the local copy but does not delete original media in Photos.
  • System availability. PhotoKit behavior, iCloud availability, device storage, and system updates may affect scan results or operation.

6. Membership and Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

The app is free to download; browsing media and basic features are free. Advanced organizing tools are membership features offered through the Apple App Store:

  • Monthly membership: an auto-renewable subscription charged once per subscription period;
  • Yearly membership: an auto-renewable subscription charged once per subscription year;
  • Lifetime membership: a one-time non-consumable purchase that unlocks membership permanently.
Auto-renewal: Apple may charge your Apple ID within 24 hours before the subscription period ends at the price shown at purchase and extend the subscription for another period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in the Apple subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. The price, duration, and renewal terms are shown before purchase. Apple handles billing, refunds, and payment-method management through its official support channels. After switching devices or reinstalling, tap “Restore Purchases” in the membership panel to recover eligible entitlements.

Exact prices, currencies, taxes, and promotions are those returned by Apple on the purchase page. Membership entitlement is tied to the Apple account used for the purchase. Free features are not retroactively charged. A lifetime purchase is non-consumable and does not renew.

7. Apple System Services

Photo-library access depends on Apple PhotoKit, and purchases and subscriptions depend on Apple StoreKit. These services are subject to Apple terms, system behavior, and availability. Except for Apple system services and web pages that you explicitly open, the app does not integrate other third-party online services.

8. Updates and Termination

If the service or important terms change, we will update the version and may ask for your consent again in the app. You may stop using and uninstall the app; uninstalling does not delete original media in Photos.
