LumaClear · Effective: September 22, 2026 · Last updated: September 22, 2026 · Version v1.1

Thank you for using LumaClear. This policy explains what the app accesses, why it needs that access, where processing takes place, and which actions require your confirmation. LumaClear is independently developed and operated by Pan Xueyan, an independent developer.

1. What the App Accesses and Processes

1.1 Photo and Video Access

When you grant photo access, LumaClear uses Apple PhotoKit to read media within the access scope you choose, on this device, for its library-organizing features. It may read the following information:

  • Thumbnails and necessary media content needed for local comparison or preview;
  • Pixel dimensions, file size, video duration, creation date, and media type;
  • System categories such as Live Photos, GIFs, screenshots, screen recordings, and bursts.

The app uses this information for specific purposes: finding exact and visually similar photos and videos, detecting blurry photos, classifying screenshots and other media categories, filtering large or long videos by size or duration, estimating possible storage savings, previewing results, and offering compression or deletion after you choose an action.

For example, if your library contains 10,000 photos and 2,000 videos, LumaClear reads the necessary local information, groups likely duplicate photos, and lists large or long videos so you can decide what to keep, compress, or move to Recently Deleted.

1.2 Your Access Choice and iCloud Media

  • You may grant full library access or selected-items access. With selected-items access, the app can see only the items you authorize.
  • For photos or videos stored in iCloud without a local copy, bulk scans do not download originals automatically. Those items may be skipped or marked as unavailable until the system makes them available locally.
  • The app writes to your library only after an explicit action, such as saving a compressed video or confirming deletion of selected items.

2. On-Device Processing and Stored Data

Photos, videos, thumbnails, file names, library structure, and scan results are not uploaded to LumaClear servers. Scanning, duplicate comparison, classification, filtering, and previewing run on your device. The app may use Apple system services for photo-library access and in-app purchases; Apple provides those services under its own rules. The app accesses a policy, support, or other web page only when you explicitly open that page.

  • Scan results, groups, thumbnail caches, filter values, thresholds, language, and theme preferences are stored in the app sandbox for use by LumaClear.
  • Local crash diagnostic logs are generated and stored on the device. They are not uploaded unless you explicitly export and send them.
  • Uninstalling LumaClear removes its sandbox data; it does not delete original photos or videos in your library.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect or sell original photos, videos, thumbnails, file names, library structure, or scan results.
  • We do not collect contacts, messages, call history, location, calendars, microphone data, or camera data.
  • We do not use device identifiers for tracking, IDFA, cross-app tracking, advertising, targeted marketing, or profiling.
  • We do not collect phone numbers, government IDs, payment card numbers, or biometric data.

4. Apple Purchases and Membership Entitlements

Membership purchases, subscriptions, restoring purchases, and refunds are handled through the Apple App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes payment information; we do not receive your full payment-card details. The app reads purchase results and entitlement status from Apple’s system services only to unlock or restore features you purchased. Prices, currencies, taxes, promotions, billing dates, and refund rules are shown by Apple and governed by your Apple account and Apple’s applicable terms.

5. Storage, Deletion, and Your Choices

  • App data is kept in the iOS or iPadOS app sandbox and protected by system permissions.
  • You can change or withdraw photo access in system Settings, under Privacy & Security and Photos.
  • Every deletion is selected and confirmed by you. The app uses the system Recently Deleted flow; items are typically recoverable there for about 30 days.
  • You can clear scan caches in the app or uninstall the app to remove local sandbox data.

6. Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are under the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, use the app with guidance from a parent or guardian.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the app’s features or data practices change. Material changes may be communicated through an in-app notice or this page, and the app may ask for consent again when required.

8. Contact

For questions, complaints, or suggestions about this policy, email dayflow.cn@outlook.com with the subject “LumaClear · Privacy”. We will reply within 15 business days. Apple handles billing, refunds, and subscription management through its official support channels.

9. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of your jurisdiction.
