User Manual

DayFlow v1.0 (not yet released) · Last updated: 2026-08-01

This manual walks through the everyday use of DayFlow's five modules. The app is not yet released (software copyright registration under review); screenshots will be added in a later update (currently text-only).

📅 Calendar

Add an event

  • Switch to the Calendar tab at the bottom
  • Tap + at the top-right to open the entry panel
  • Fill in title, time, and notes → Save

Month calendar view

Tap the month title at the top of the Calendar tab to drop down a full-month grid:

  • Days with events get a dot, and the event names are printed right inside the cell (up to two, the rest collapse into "+N")
  • Event names are colored by category: work blue, sport orange, personal green
  • Arrows flip months; tapping the month title jumps back to the current month
  • The bottom of the panel lists the selected day in full (time + title) — tap a row to edit it
  • Picking a day also moves the week strip above, so the day stays selected after the panel closes

Sync to system calendar (optional)

Enable the toggle in Profile → System Calendar Sync. DayFlow writes new events to your device calendar. Changes made in the system calendar are not observed by DayFlow — the in-app view is authoritative.

Browse all

Scroll to the bottom of the Calendar home and tap "View all". Month chips act as filters — tap one to show only that month.

✅ Todos

Add and categorize

  • Switch to the Todos tab
  • Opens on the Unfinished tab (see what to do next)
  • Tap + to add · categories: Work / Study / Life / Interests

Completion percent

The top bar shows today's completion rate in real time — the closer to 100%, the better you're doing.

🏃 Running

Quick start

  • Switch to the Running tab
  • The top segmented control toggles Week / Month / All-time stats
  • Tap "Start Running" → grant location permission (foreground + background) → go

Fartlek interval training

  • Pick a training plan from the Running home; the app announces "steady 3 min / sprint 30 sec / recover 1 min" by voice
  • Voice keeps playing when the iOS screen is locked (v1.0 fix · background audio + notification fallback)
  • A "current interval" card stays pinned on Home so you can jump back to the run at any time

Data

  • Distance / pace / calories are computed locally
  • GPS accuracy is affected by tunnels, tall buildings, and bad weather — normal behavior
  • Data lives in on-device storage; nothing is uploaded to any server

💰 Ledger

Quick entry

  • Switch to the Ledger tab
  • Tap + to open the entry panel
  • Enter amount on the numeric pad → pick a category → save
  • Defaults to today; tap the date to backfill a past day

Budget and reminders

  • Profile → Monthly Budget → set an amount, auto-resets every month
  • Tap the bell to enable an evening ledger reminder (default 20:00)

History

From the Ledger home, scroll down → View all → switch months with the month chips.

👤 Profile

Avatar and nickname

  • Tap the avatar to pick from Photos or take a new picture
  • Tap the nickname to edit inline
  • Avatar reloads correctly after an overwrite install on iOS (v1.0 fix · sandbox UUID drift)

Data export and backup

  • Profile → Data → Export backup: generates a JSON file (AirDrop, save to Files, or send it to yourself)
  • Import backup: pick a previously exported JSON → records are appended (existing data is not deleted)
  • Backup reminder: Profile → Data → Backup reminder — toggle it on and pick an interval (3 / 7 / 14 / 30 days). When a backup is due, the next app launch prompts you to export; the same section shows your last backup time
  • The first launch after a version update also prompts you to back up once
You decide where the backup file goes — the app never manages or uploads it. Save it to Files, iCloud Drive, or a computer. A file left inside the app sandbox disappears together with the app on uninstall, which means it is not really a backup.

Language switch

Profile → Language → Chinese / English, applies instantly to every page.

❓ FAQ

Why no account system?

DayFlow uses zero-account design. All data stays on your device — we don't know who you are and cannot correlate your behavior. This is the strongest privacy promise: what we don't have, we can't leak.

Can I lose data?

Risks of local storage: uninstalling, clearing cache, changing devices, system failure, or factory reset can wipe data. Export a backup regularly and keep the file outside the app (Files, iCloud Drive, or a computer). The app has a built-in periodic backup reminder you can toggle and schedule under Profile → Data.

To be clear: the app never uploads or hosts your backups. Exporting and choosing where to store the file are entirely up to you — an unavoidable consequence of the zero-account, zero-server design. We have no server that could hold your data for you.

Why does GPS drift?

Phone GPS accuracy is affected by the environment. Tunnels, underground garages, dense high-rises, and bad weather all cause drift. This is a hardware limitation — no software can fully solve it.

Why don't reminders fire?

Local notifications rely on OS scheduling. Battery saver, do-not-disturb, background limits, and "cleaner" apps kill scheduling. Suggested:
    • Disable battery optimization for DayFlow
    • On Huawei / Xiaomi / OPPO, lock DayFlow in the recent-apps list
